NEW: TRAVIS Truck Charging network
An approaching deadline to meet zero-emission targets and a rapidly growing number of e-trucks on European roads underline the biggest challenge within the European transport sector: the realisation of a large network of charging points specifically designed for trucks. However, besides this realisation, the sector is currently still struggling with a lack of an independent overview of data surrounding available truck charging points. To respond to this need, TRAVIS is launching Europe’s most relevant and reliable Truck Charging network.

Crucial data for efficient route planning
The number of electric trucks on the road is growing exponentially, and the need for a broad and reliable charging infrastructure is naturally growing along with it. Although the majority of e-trucks still only operate regionally/nationally and are mainly charged overnight at their own depot locations, finding public truck charging locations is still a significant challenge. Transparent and freely available data around these public locations are logically crucial for the wider deployment of e-trucks within the transport industry.
Sharing data and knowledge as a core value
To complement the road services that are already offered, such as truck parking, truck washing, tank cleaning and repair, TRAVIS is now introducing Truck Charging on its platform. This free and publicly accessible overview makes it easy to find public truck charging points, highlighting TRAVIS’ vision for transparent sharing of crucial data regarding truck charging (locations). Through close cooperation with truck charging locations, TRAVIS provides reliable information including details such as: maximum kWh per charger, accessibility for trucks and/or trailers, possibility to pre-book time slots and opening hours. This detailed information enables planners and drivers to see exactly what to expect on site. This makes actual planning of trips possible from now on. By continuing to seek cooperation with current and future operators within the truck charging domain, the information displayed remains up-to-date and expanding.
Expanding the bookable network
With the launch of this map overview with truck charging locations, TRAVIS is taking a first but important step in the transition to a more sustainable transport industry. In addition to building and expanding a solid and internationally covering network, TRAVIS will also focus on enabling drivers / planners to be able to book charging spots upfront so that drivers are guaranteed a spot at a pole to avoid unnecessary waiting. As the largest booking platform for truck parking and other road services, TRAVIS seamlessly integrates this addition as an extension to its already existing bookable service network. With this, TRAVIS offers an all-in-one solution for planners and transport managers but will also support transport companies in making their own charging stations publicly available to third parties when they are not in use by their own fleet. This directly contributes to greater availability of public charging infrastructure and underlines the vision to continue to seek partnerships in the transition to a greener transport industry.
