TRAVIS Road Services has raised a venture round investment from Shell Ventures. Via its booking platform, TRAVIS provides fleet owners essential road services, such as truck washing, tank cleaning, parking and reparations. With their investment, Shell Ventures supports TRAVIS and the acceleration of their European growth.
TRAVIS was founded to solve the inefficient and costly administrative process of finding, booking and paying for road services. Its booking platform connects fleet owners with local road service providers. Over 500 road service locations have been connected and more than 60.000 truckers currently make use of TRAVIS. The company, based in The Netherlands, has grown from a local player into an international scale-up. TRAVIS is currently active in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Denmark, Spain, Poland and Austria, striving for full European coverage within the next several years.
“To be able to load the next cargo and drive from A to B, a driver needs to make use of road services such as truck washing and tank cleaning. Finding the right services in foreign countries and paying for them, used to be a manual process and raised administrative challenges for both fleet owners and service providers. TRAVIS automates this process of finding, booking and paying for road services, which results in swift and transparent transactions,” says Dennis van Veggel, founder and CEO TRAVIS. “Due to our vast European road service network, fleet owners can optimize their planning and with that reduce costs, detour mileage and idle time.”
Van Veggel: “We envision that smart (autonomous) vehicles can automatically find, book and pay for the best available road service based on real time data, we call this data driven road services. Our customers and partners tell us that by automating the road services booking process, we reduce the administrative burden and provide them more control. That is how TRAVIS empowers fleet owners to strengthen their position in the increasingly international logistics industry.”
“We believe in the ambition of TRAVIS to conquer the European road services market,” says Peter van Giessel, Investment Director at Shell Ventures. “TRAVIS aggregates and unlocks distinctive and often scattered services that are essential to the safety and efficiency of fleets. It allows fleet owners to locate and book essential services and even pay them using fuel cards, such as the Shell Card. I’m convinced that the rise of connected vehicles will increase the demand for data driven road services. Against that backdrop, together with growing economies of scale, we’re confident that the ambitious team of TRAVIS will continue to improve the road services market”.
TRAVIS Road Services fulfils the need of companies looking for an extensive European road services network. By using the TRAVIS booking platform fleet owners can find, book, and pay services such as truck wash, tank cleaning, parking and repair at the right place and time. The network is expanding with qualified partners and services on a daily basis. TRAVIS provides insights and allows companies to manage their road services: maximum convenience and control assured.
